Been a few times. Gyro is beef based and honestly tastes like ground beef. Chicken is ok but for some reason they dice it up real small. Nothing special by any means.

It's Manhattan drunk food. Don't try to eat it sober.

We have one in Houston and I feel the same way. I've been to nyc many times, so I only pick it up if I'm feeling nostalgic or if I'm hammered.

The chicken and gyro are cheap meat, but the white sauce is pretty good. It's certainly better than McDonald's, but it's drunk food so don't expect too much.

I'm eating here for the first time. I like it. The pita bread is so much better (fresher/softer) than any other that I've had. I don't know how authentic it is, but I like it. Chicken gyro with white and hot sauce was good. Way better than American fast food places.
I also got some hummus. It came with one piece of pita bread. The pita's gone and I still have 3/4 of a dish of hummus.
What to do with left over hummus? Eat it with my finger? Spoon?

An employee just brought me some pita pieces for free to finish the hummus. Very nice!
