I literally talked to her for like 10 seconds. Said what I had to say, spoke to the chef for another 10 seconds, and was out the door.

Nobody has a problem with you telling her that you would've appreciated the information before waiting an hour. But "cussing out" a hostess is taking it too far

Nah, never felt the need to cuss anyone when dining out.

Do you feel better about yourself after doing it?

You are a horrible human and why lots of smart people choose not to beg for peanuts in the service industry.

Few notes here

Expecting any type of decent service from a place that doesn’t take reservations: trashy

Waiting an hour to eat anywhere : trashy

Berating 17 year old hostess at Outback : trashy

I bet you are a fun person to be around... Not ever coming back to the place would suffice for me. Or leave it to Yelp. You took time out of your life to voice a concern that you have zero control over. That is simply ridiculous. You were in the wrong more than she was.

Had to cuss out a hostess
Took the family and some friends out to dinner Saturday night, party of 8. Restaurant wouldn't take reservations so we showed up around 745 and got our name on the waiting list. One hour wait, not too bad for a Saturday night so we wait it out.

Hour later, get seated. Waitress comes over to let us know they're out of ribeyes, out of ham (for cuban sandwiches), out of sweet potato fries, and out of burgers. We could still get a burger but it would be two "kids' patties" stacked and they had to be cooked well done.

This place doesn't have a very extensive menu. She basically eliminated half the entrees by listing those items missing from stock. We all decided to call an audible and head out for sushi.

On the way out, I had to stop by to speak with the hostess. When we put our name on the list, and proceeded to wait an hour for a table, not once did she mention they were out of anything. Like, maybe it's just me, but it seems that telling a party of 8 that's about to wait an hour for a table that you're out of several main menu items is, I don't know, kind of her job?

I told her what I thought about the way she was doing her job and how her inability to do her job cost 8 people an hour on a Saturday night. Head chef happened to be walking by and asked what was going on. He half-heartedly agreed with me, apologized for being out of food, and walked away saying he hopes we come back.

I'm completely in the right thinking this hostess screwed up, right? If not her, then it was the chef for not telling her? Either way, not cool.

None of this happened.

That was a strange comment. Who feels the needs to dress down people trying to do their job for an expected outcome, not even a mistake.

I bet I can score a 60% on my cursory stereotyping of your typical pig shite country boy.

I wanna know what you really said to her. I’ve seen no cuss words mentioned except in the title

You're lucky you were seated. Most hostesses are lost and are waiting to clock out. I never met one that gave a shite about the 86 board.

He wasn’t voicing a “concern” he was being an emotional bully who didn’t get his way. I’d bet I can draw a character sketch about 80% accurate.

Yes I’m drinking and have 20% more confidence

You would be wrong. He is one of the "enlightened" progs that think they are above everyone else.
