And all this nostalgia about Bailey's resulted in Bailey's ceasing to exist. So everyone can look back and remember how amazing the place was, but it strikes me as odd that it was so amazing that it went out of business. I enjoyed Bailey's but it was a failed venture.

You sound like Graves parent. Why the anger towards the Guthries founder? Did it ever occur to you that an old entrepeneur in small town Alabama in the late 70s may not have given a sh## about expanding as rapidly as possible? Restaurant franchising wasn`t exactly widespread 35 years ago so I`m not sure where all the hate for Mr Guthrie is coming from. Some of you guys are WAY too overly defensive of your hometown chains. You`ve made a competition where none existed. Canes took the Guthries model and aggressively expanded on it. Congrats to them

This.

Guthrie's is great. I grew up on Guthrie's and have never heard of Cane's. Doesn't seem like the Guthrie family is upset that one of their former employees has done well. The Guthries never seemed to aggressively try to expand their business. It has always been a family run operation.

I like it. They need to stop charging me for extra sauce tho.

There is a place called Foghorn's in Metairie on Causeway, isn't it the same concept?

Well it's not exactly some super secret formula. It's a popular, cheap, and easy to copy business model. Make chicken fingers and fries, have a mayonnaise and ketchup based sauce, hire high functioning retards (teenagers and stoners) to run said restaurant, profit. That's it.

I can't stand Chik Fil A, but they did invent the chicken sandwich. Didn't stop McDonald's, Wendy's, and every other restaurant from copying them and selling more.

Mmm....now I want some guthries, but I might just make my own at the house...cause I know the secret of the sauce. My family has been making it since the early 80s.

2 parts Mayo
1 part Ketchup
Garlic Salt
Dash of Worcestshire Sauce until the color is right
Dash Tabasco
Salt and tons of course ground black pepper

Sometimes I sup heinz 57 for the ketchup for something a bit different.

apparently a monkey could have made it big by selling chicken fingers. the food from canes is disgusting and somehow they stay busy at every location... except opelousas, because we are smart enough to buy chicken that doesnt taste like shite.
