What do you think would be better a green mountain or green egg?

They're two different types of grills that are hard to compare. Since you can sear on an egg, as well as BBQ, they're probably more versatile. But pellet grills are just so damn easy and convenient. If i need to sear a steak, it's hard to beat a Webber Smokey Joe. It gets the coals very close to the meat. And they're under $30.

I will say, an egg will probably last until you die. Pellet grills involved electronics, so they'll inevitably wear out at some point.

I wasn't aware that you could get these grills that hot. How long does it take to get to 800+? So searing a steak would be no problem???

As said earlier, it's the pizza oven attachment. But I've read that it takes about 30 minutes to heat up the pizza stone.

I saw a review of the pizza attachment on Amazon that said it's actually great for steaks. Instead of the pizza stone you put the steak in a cast iron skillet.

Mmmmm. Is hate to risk running my grandma's cast iron skillet. I might have to get some smaller ones.

That’s what I was going to say. Put steak on the lower pit and let it smoke while a cast iron heats up. Sear, butter, profit....

I'm too lazy to clean the grease and crap out of the barrel to ever grill or sear on the GMG. I'm sure it would be awesome, but that cleanup
