Preferably not too far off I-10. Must try? Places to avoid? Other products worth getting?

D and Js on Black Bayou Rd. It's not super close to I10 but it's maybe 10 minutes.

Well not too far from the interstate narrows it down a bit. Reno and Hopes Seafood in Sorrento is very close to the interstate and makes some damn good sausage. I know it’s not Gonzales but it’s the next exit.

Go to St. Amant and the options expand like others have posted. D and J’s seems to be a overwhelming favorite. Murray’s also makes a solid product.

Any exit will work. Had heard of good sausage from around there and may be traveling through soon.

Thanks for recs and keep'em coming!

Just don't buy Manda's, I will never understand how they stay in business.

Murray’s and D&Js as mentioned are great. If around prairieville oak grove smokehouse has really good sausage too.

Not sure if it has changed, but this would be the same as Alexanders as well.
