Indian Pass Raw Bar. Best oysters I've ever had. Too bad it isn't in NOLA.

Skip Acme and Drago's. Go to Casamentos, Harbor Seafood, or Nola Food & Spirits.

I don't get the hype with Felix's. I went one night when the wait was just too long for Acme. I was less than impressed with the grilled oysters. I really like Acme and Drago's. Acme just a bit more buttery and Drago's a bit more thicker and crunchier with the cheese. Solid every time.

Yeah Felix's could be a let down as an alternative to Acme if you want chargrilled.

As far as ambience, Acme>Felix's. Raw oysters all come from the same source around here, so the raw oyster comparison is a wash. You'll have a bit of a wait on the sidewalk for Acme.

The oyster bar at the Bourbon House is pretty awesome. The rest of their menu leaves a bit to be desired considering the cost, but it's a beautiful restaurant.

So not true. All oysters aren't created equally. Go to the Blind Pelican and get a dozen than drive over to a place like Casamentos and get a dozen.

Stayed at the Hilton all weekend and had the chargrilled from Dragos 3 times. Each time we hung at the bar if it wasn't too late we ordered them. They were excellent!!

Tell me more about this. Oysters here are ok, but really expensive and often very small and the presentation can be atrocious.

I would have thought they would be mostly the same at places down there, especially raw or steamed.

We saw the line at Acme for lunch on Friday and walked right by it to Bourbon House and did not regret the decision. Walked right in, sat down and had a nice lunch.

She wanted Rockefeller oysters and red beans. I told her there were a number of other places that do those two things better than acme and she said ok. She's from Texas, so give her a break.

So, can we get a consensus on the best chargrilled and Rockefeller oysters in the quarter?
