The Bower looks really nice and new. It's also a sister restarant of Claret, which is right behind to get drinks after

Unless they reopened recently, they were temp closed due to covid since they are part of a hotel

Elysian Bar. No question.

Been to the Bower twice. The Happy Hour is legit. I really like their set up. The food is creative but just above average to me. The staff is nice and the wine list is good.

I will be back again though.

Have had two great dinners at Claret/Bowery. They are in a great location as well.

Its a nice location and a nice set up. But the food isn't anything special.

There are better options for what OP is looking for.

The problem is thinking of somewhere good that then allows a walk to a bar/restaurant that also provides something like dessert to go with the drinks since Toya ain't having none of that.

Fair point. If you did Elysian Bar, you can then take a very short drive over to Bacchanal (which you do need a resy for as well these days).

Could do Costera, and then a brief drive over to say,Bulldog on Magazine.

Costera then try to do Columns would work too.

Haven't been since that changeover. Looks nice.

Is the bar at Columns even open?

I’ve heard good things about Claret and haven’t been yet.. asking for trendy shite for a girl that would sweat it that hasn’t lived in NOLA all that long

I believe it is, would definitely call before showing up though.

Are you looking for a nice dinner to or would a place like Val's, serving tacos, fit into your plan?

Thinking something along the lines of places mentioned here. Not old guard NOLA restaurants but not fast service places either

You could also go to Meaux Bar then walk a block to Effervescence. Might want to call Meaux Bar though because I'm not 100% sure if they are open because of the vid.

The revamped Columns is awesome.

You do "have to order food" but you can just order fries.

I just had fries both times

But I did see other people eating. Its definitely got a cool, almost 1950s Cuba vibe to it right now.
