I do not like fruitcakes as a rule.
This is the only place that can redeem the fruitcake reputation. I get one every year and they are legit.

People who say they don't like fruitcakes have not, for the most part, tried the good ones. Those you pick up in a grocery store suck. CollinStreet makes a good one as do a couple of others. And, yes, the good ones are soaked in booze, are moist and have fresh tasting fruit. You owe it to yourself to try the good ones at least once.

I've been meaning to try one from the Monastery. I'm going to try to order one right now. I think I'll try the creamed honeys, as well.
