News flash chief...My mother is a real life Mexican, I'm half "real" Mexican and have been in plenty of "real" Mexican restaurants-even in *gasp* Mexico, and have never, EVER, seen my mother or any of her family making this. Why do you think I keep busting your balls about this?

So have I. I was stationed in Barstow, Cali and made the trip to Mexico many times.

I do not know.

Once again, go to a mexican restraunt and look for burrito frito. Many mexican restraunts serve them. It is not something new...I have been eating them my entire life...

Here is a 'tiny' pic of a burrito frito.

Wikipedia articles are written by many tigerdroppings' posters. I do not care what you want to call things. I am telling you that "Many" MEXICAN restraunt owners in Mexico and America have "burrito frito" on the menu. I am soooo sorry that you have such a problem with this. Stop acting like you are the master of mexican cuisine. From now on, everytime I go to a mexican restraunt and order a burrito frito(from the menu), I will laugh...like this

I saw a burrito frito on a menu at a Mexican restaurant here in Alabama. This restaurant is owned by a family from Mexico just like that Mexican restaurant in Denham Springs.

You're seriously going to come at me with Mexican food from Alabama and Denham?

You may very well have order a burrito frito at a Mexican restaurant here in the states and even in border towns, but I can assure you that it is not authentic. They had to find something marketable for American tastes other than bugs, menudo, tripas, and goat. Much like a burrito frito=a chimichanga without a chili cheese topping.

Agree to disagree Chimi.

Thank you...You are talking about Fernando's, right? Yes, they also have the burrito frito on the menu. As do others. And yes, they are owned and operated by a Mexican family.

To be completely subjective, that other guy might not know what I mean because people have called many mexican dishes by different names. Like some comedian once said, "...mexican food is basically three ingrediants: meat, bread, and cheese."

You are only reading and comprehending what you want. I have been to "MEXICO", too. Did you miss the part about my time in the USMC and being stationed 2 hours from the border. Did you miss the part about me eating "burrito frito" in MEXICO???? I do not care when it was invented and for what race of people it was invented for. It exists by that name and possibly by other names...I said that in the other thread. I have been ordering this dish from "MEXICAN" menus since the mid-late 80s, in America(Cali, Tx, La, Ms, and Ga) and in Mexico. God bless your Mother; I am sure she is a lovely lady, but she is not the only Mexican cook in the world. Remember, don't form hasty generalizations.

Basically...for Tex Mex purposes anyway. Tripe and hominy corn-a crunch wrap supreme it does not make.

I remember eating Sam's pizzas during high school. They hit the spot on a hot summer day of playing football or basketball with the boys, but I was 15.

I had an aunt who was from Veraquez(sp) Mexico. When I was 17 my graduation gift from high school was she was taking me to Mexico. We toured Mexico City and you actually had the chance to pick out the dog or cat caucus that they had hanging in the marketplace. I never want to go back to that country. My aunt explained to me that the poor in her country eat cats and dogs because that is all that they can afford. I never ate anything that she brought to a family gathering again even though she was in the upper middle class in this country.
