I've got about a pound of fresh blackeye peas, I was planning on making the donald link recipe from his book but it calls for dried peas, soaked overnight. Do I still need to soak/ these fresh ones the same as the dried? Sorry for the dumb question, but I've never cooked with fresh blackeye peas.

No need to soak them.

Soaking beans just re-hydrates them. Fresh peas are still hydrated. Just sub them for the already soaked peas. Enjoy

You probably shouldn't even try. Just give them to me and I will relieve you from your pain. :)
