Anyone in BTR been here yet? Went to Nino’s last night (wonderful as usual). And the line to get into this new place (formerly tutti fruiti) was crazy. Guy at Ninos said it has been like that since they opened a week or so ago. Interested to hear your thoughts on quality/value.

Similar to sweet rolls in Hammond?

Take the ice cream, mix a bunch of stuff in it while you watch, then have it in rolls in a cup

Seems like it is - sounds like they actually freeze the cream to order then mix/roll

Yeah that's what sweet rolls does. Pour it in on a stone type thing that freezes it then they work everything in. I don't find sweet rolls to be anything special. Just tastes like ice cream

We've gone a few times in Hammond and I've had some really good ones. The smores was good, as was the wedding cake, etc.... However, it all ends up tasting like what you can buy from Blue Bell or any other ice cream in the grocery store.

Every once in awhile they have something unique and the Sweet Rolls with fresh fruit is my go to since that is not something I can walk into a store and buy. I can make it if I wanted to but still

Oh and they did one with King Cake that was really good, they bought King Cakes from a local bakery and mixed it into the sweet cream ice cream and added a piece of king cake as a topper.

Thanks - may give it a shot after it is no longer the new thing and lines subside.

Freezy Street in NOLA does it, too. Once was enough. If you’re eight, it might be fun to watch the process. If you’re a grownup, the ice cream base isn’t especially creamy, the toppings tend toward the too sweet, and it’s a pretty meh product. Go to Piccola gelateria for better quality without the gimmick

Dat Ice Roll pops up in front of Dat Dog and usually has the sidewalk blocked with people in line.
