I made burgers similar to your pictures.

4 big pieces of bacon. 2 going north/south and two going east/west. Latticed them and place a third pound patty in the middle. Wrapped the bacon around and secured with toothpicks.

When the burgers were pretty much done, I pulled the toothpicks and placed 2 slices of cheddar to melt and hold the bacon in place.

Best burgers I ever made. Thinking of doing a pork loin this weekend stuffed with something and wrapped in bacon.
