Wife has strep throat, so I'm making her a quick batch of chicken stock. It's not at the max level of liquid, but it's close to it. I've read that the timer won't actually set until it's reached high pressure, and I'll know it when the metal piece pops up.

I won't even go in the kitchen. I keep peaking my head around the corner to see if it's about to explode.

The timer will not start until pressure is reached. I believe they actually operate at lower pressures than the old styles. Mine has never blown, yet.

Make sure it's set to sealing and not venting.

good luck buddy. We haven’t had any casualties yet in my house. I recommend praying to the god of your choice before opening
