I find it hard to spit game at the waitresses in the well lit 3 barstool area at the Coursey location when I get my buzz on from drinking 2 Abita Ambers.

Please pass on to your pop that I'd like a more romantic dimly lit atmosphere to drink in. Also, a juke box, golden tee machine and a urinal with ice in it would be nice too.

LL is very manipulative...She wears her tight yoga pants to entice dudes into buying her crab cakes with a shrimp on top and a cup-o-gumbo, and then she tells them to hit the road.

Dempsey's gumbo is good, but I like Portobello's gumbo more.

ETA: I can't wait for Uncle O's to open on Sherwood in the year 2027..I hear his gumbo is delish.

Skilly, you know lots about gumbo. Seems like you've sampled it from every eatery in BR and LP

There's tons of FB posters that know more about gumbo than me. I'm just an expert on eating it. Homemade turkey gumbo is the best with a scoop of potato salad in it. yum

Hey Rick Crick, you know what gets my yankee in a doodle? It's that John Folse crap that he sells frozen in the grocery stores. I've tried a few of his things, gumbo, etouffee, etc. and it's all pretty much garbage. And it ain't cheap either. Never again.

His segments on WAFB can be entertaining sometimes, especially the ones he used to do with Paul Gates ( )...But Folse's voice starts to annoy me after a short time.

So, apparently subway and catering2you have some sort of deal where bon carre will not allow food trucks to post up in the parking lot. They don't want the competition.

The truck can however park in the cox parking lot which is basically the same lot. So, the sandwich place with the incredibly rude service and the "soul food" place with non-existent service don't want competition from anyone who might serve edible food and have decent service. What a joke.

They showed up in the Cox parking lot in bon carre today. Limited menu but, still really good food.

Sounds like they will be back every Thursday.

ETA: I believe they're here til 2pm today.
