I struggled with that too. I finally got it. It took a while for the app to be fully functional.

So how I use Imgur
I take a picture with my phone, upload it to Imgur and got to my Ipad and go into the imgur app and go to the PIC, I tap on the pic, and choose message and copy the link and then go into TD and paste into IMG.,
If you just use a phone then you bypass thre ipad part.
Extra steps but not a big deal
