Oh Eddie, I remember what that was like. So many memories. Your life is forever changed. I remember driving home from work the first day after mom and baby came home and thinking "oh shite, it is not just us anymore". Enjoy the new adventure and spend as much time as you can with him. It goes so fast.

When will you ever get to have Stone 15th again anyway? Good plan.

This beer is so good fresh. I loved it last winter, but it did not age well at all. I assume that the bottle you tried says "Winter 11-12" on the label?

I have not had this one, but I like every Deschutes brew I've tried.

This one is an anomaly. Not sure why, but the BCS aged poorly and got really boozy and lost complexity. Give the Winter 12-13 a try when it comes out.

Indeed. Started dieting and working out this week and have been towing the line like a boss. Time to enjoy!

Good. I know how hard it is to stay in shape as we age! Enjoy the weekends though.

OK FBD posters, I'm back from the bar(MacFarlane's in Lake Charles for those who were curious). The selection isn't as exotic as I hoped for either, but I tried some new beers and had a good time. Here's what I had.

FBD: Sam Adam's Boston Ale. I liked it, but I didn't find it be markedly better than Boston Lager.

SBD: Unibroue Maudite. By far my favorite beer of the night. I've never had a beer quite like this before. Served in a brandy snifter glass, very smooth, and complex and full flavors. I wanted more as soon as I finished it.

TBD: Sam Smith's Oatmeal Stout. One of my personal favorite beers. Was great as always.

FBD: Old Rasputin. Very dark, very heavy. Had this one while we snacked on some apps. I liked it better after it had warmed up a little bit(ice cold when I received it). I would order it again.

FBD: Sam Adam's Cherry Wheat. Very light and refreshing. Good warm weather beer. I wouldn't mind drinking it again, but I wouldn't want a whole 6er of it.

This is all I had this go round since I had to drive home. I know I can't describe flavors and characteristics like some of you can, but I did my best. Thanks to everyone for the recommendations and introducing me to some great new brews

This is one of my favorites. If you like the style, try the Brooklyn Local 2.

This is a very good Russian Imperial Stout. Have you tried Stone's version?

And a tommy knocker Black Rye IPA. This is a nice beer that we don't get in LA.
