How is that Chasin Freshies this far out from production?

Can anybody tell me about Southern Star Le Mort Vivant? Looking to share a big bottle of it with the wifey with roasted chicken. Any good? Rate Beer gives it a 45, but I figure since its not distribute to far that that site may not be too reliable.

ETA: It gets an 81 on BeerAdvocate.

Me too. That beer has been in my rotation for many years.

SBD was a NOLA Blonde and TBD was a St. Arnold Icon, both at The Box. Back home now enjoying a Real Ale Dry Hopped Porter as my 4BD.

SBD was a Sam Adams Maple Pecan Porter. It exceeded my expectations. I'd drink it again.

The Chasin Freshies was pretty fresh from what I tasted. They had it on tap at this beer bar in Wichita.

I wished it was a tad hoppier. Said it had 60 ibu''s

Good beer.

Westbrook IPA, pretty damn good

I picked up some of these in Mobile back in January and I was impressed. It is a very light and crisp IPA with good balance. Almost a session IPA.

I would say Le Mort Vivant is a fairly average Biere De Garde. You will probably like it, but it's not going to leave much of an impression on you.

Outside of maybe Jolly Pumpkin, American Biere De Garde's never really have that great of ratings. It may be a difficult style, or an acquired taste...or both

Hops & Grain Pale Dog
Lakewood Lager
Lakewood Temptress
Lakewood Hop Trapp
Lakewood Rock Ryder
Deep Ellum IPA
Deep Ellum Dallas Blonde
Deep Ellum Double Brown Stout

Thanks for the thoughts on the Mort Ivant. The wifey wanted wine since it has less calories . Haha.
