Tasted so much better before I could get it at the Wal-Mart in Murphy, TX. However, it was one of the better options at our Disney resort

How is that one? I've been favoring all things TUPPS here lately.

I love the Tupps DDHIPA and their Full Grown stouts. Half Life is not quite as intense as DDHIPA but has a nice balance.

Very carefully.

NBD is a homebrew sour imperial stout. Cold tonight and I need some heat.

And I noticed the reading is calibrated for 20c. No wonder my mash readings are so effed up.

Eh, if you're only putting a couple drops onto the refracometer, it likely cools to 20c rapidly, or at least in the neighborhood of 20c. You're squishing less than a mL liquid between two room-tempish surfaces. It might be a little different in summer, but you're in the ballpark.

That's what I r always thought. But my readings of hot wort are consistently off. For instance, this brew I had a reading of 1.033 immediately after mashing. I usually bring the wort to a boil with the lid on and let sit overnight and boil the next day. I took a reading this morning with the cooled wort and it was 1.057. That's typical.
