so are you guys going to hug it out, fist bump, or just shake hands when you meet? inquiring minds want to know

I am thinking shake hands first. Then we'll take it from there.

Hit me up as well. We are planning on going to the cajun and zydeco fest Saturday afternoon, then maybe some evening drinking at the pub.

SBD is a half pint of my 100% brett citra pale ale. Still unsure about this. Maybe it will get better, but at this point it is meh.

Sounds good to me. My girl has plans all night Saturday so I'll be free from 6 on at least. Will probably be day drinking a bit somewhere too but she has several friends in town and they're not gonna want to go to Avenue. Maybe I can talk them into Bulldog or Baracdia.

Sorry to hear that .. brett is a tough thing to work with from what I've read. Keep at it!

Got it both of you.

100% Brett pale ale huh? Mellow on the Brett? How old is it and which strain or strains?

7 weeks old with B. claussenii. You wouldn't know there's Brett unless I told you. It's not bad, but I think I now know what I did wrong. Apparently Brett can't break down the carbohydrates from rye or oats, and this was a typical APA recipe with pale and crystal. It thinned out too much. Live and learn. I should also never be allowed to make anything over 40 IBU. For some reason I just can't make good hoppy beers.

Thanks for all the threads you've offered help in to previous visitors. I've got a decent bead on bars and places to eat, can you offer suggestions on places to load my BXN boxes (the retail version of Specs Smith Street in SF)? Hoping our hotel will help arrange shipping (other than the box I'm carrying back on the plane). I've e-mailed Gary at Blackwell's that I'm going to come by and meet him in person, but he doesn't seem to have a huge selection of beer all the time. I'm likely bringing at least one of my beer boxes with me, if you want any of our poor offerings.

I think the best retail places are:

Ales Unlimited
2398 Webster St, San Francisco
Hours:
Mon-Sat 9am–10pm
Sun 9:30am–6pm
Great selection of beer from around the world.
Ales Unlimited

City Beer Store
1168 Folsom St #101, San Francisco
Hours:
Mon Closed
Tue-Sat 12–10pm
Sun 12–6pm
Tasting room with great draft selection, EPIC on premises only cooler and lots of bottles to go.
City Beer Store

I would also say if you are close to any Whole Foods check it out because their selection is normally great.

Probably not your thing but the 610 Stompers are having their annual bar crawl Saturday. Starts at F&MS, Grits then moves to Le Bon Temps and Fat Harry's I believe. It's a fund raiser for Gleason foundation. Not sure if I'm signing up, but I'm without a doubt gonna watch these fools dance in the streets.

BR crew-anyone up for Hump Day happy hour at the Pelican House tomorrow? Kim, you should come so ru and I can show you on our phones all the beers we tasted Saturday night.

Thank you! What y'all going over there for?

I got your text about pelican house. I doubt I'll make it over there tonight. Thanks for the offer though.

I suggested it as part of my rehab from Saturday night's beerfeast, plus, I haven't been to the Pelican House yet. I've been afraid of making Tom mad.

He's probably mad at you about something anyway...

It's a nice place. Much more enjoyable atmosphere.

You'll like the scenery too.

Cool hadn't heard about that. May be something my girl and her friends would be into. Will certainly suggest it.
