Happy Fourth to all you baws! Looks to be a beautiful day in SE Louisiana celebrating the birth of this great nation!

FBD is a pour of some leftover Homebrew Mango Habanero Sour while prepping a 6lb brisket for smoking. Added some Prickly Pear purée that I was messing with and it’s a nice add. Still drinking good - wishing it was spicier. I’m making a Coconut Jalapeño Sour for NOLA On Tap that I’m going to make sure has some heat to it.

Hope you all have a wonderful, safe holiday celebrating with your friends and family!

SBD is a Spud Light from NOLA.

My first time trying this after hearing some good things. Didn’t get to try the original Spud Heavy from last year, but figured with Idaho 7 and Comet, it was worth a try. It’s very good. I’ve not been enjoying the recent Imperials they’ve been putting out despite some quality hops used. They have a tendency to feel very heavy (even more than they pack ABV-wise) and cloying. But with this clocking in at 6.5%, that heaviness is completely absent and what you’re left with is a more crisp, citrusy, slightly bitter IPA. It sort of straddles the styles of New England and American IPA. It has some bitterness that’s melded with grapefruit/citrus and some subtle light biscuit malt. A thirst-quenching, refreshing, citrusy IPA. I dig it.
