I do a half assed version of hamburger steak w brown gravy.

Cook frozen patties in cast iron pot. Remove and toss in two sliced onions and brown the piss out of em. Toss in a brown gravy packet and the patties with some water. Cook for a few and serve over rice and sweet green peas. Mashed potatoes work too. Easy and down home if ya ask ne.

Pho. I have it at least twice a week for lunch and it's about as no frills as it gets.

I love pho. But when I was living in Atlanta, there is no way I could eat that during the summer months.

My favorite no frills brakfast item is eggs and rice.

Heat up a skillet
Pat of butter
Throw in a a cup of cooked rice
heat it through
while its heating beat an egg or two
pour it over the rice
stir it around
pinch of salt and pepper
serve it

Me and my son eat every weekend when we have leftover rice. Some times I get fancy and add some diced ham or a left over hamburger patty to it.
