girl at my work got something called "two step" from rouses in morgan city and basically all you do is add water and meat and its done in 30 min... tasted awesome... she made the gumbo too... excellent...

some old women out of Thibodeaux invented it... highly recommended... only sell at rouses i believe

use Oak Grove, but I put in trinity, sausage, shredded rotisserie chicken, use stock or chicken broth instead of water, and add a little Slap Ya Mama hot.

Zatarain's Brown Rice Jambalaya. Add additional seasoning and cream of chicken soup.

Coach, Oak Grove all the way.

Fry off Pre-Cut trinity, turkey sausage, and chicken breasts.

A somewhat healthy meal.

I was stuck on Zatarain's till I discovered that.

Whatever you do, dont try Tony's box. It's awful.

If you're going to use fresh vegetables, saute your vegetables, sausage, and meat, use chicken stock, etc. to doctor up the boxed stuff why not just make your own? All the box is giving you is parboiled rice (although I don't think Oak Grove is parboiled) and dried out spices. Once you figure out how to get your rice cooked correctly it's much superior to a box or bag of rice and dehydrated tomatoes.
