excellent meal at willa jean

after the pels game last night, wife and i were hungry so we walked down to willa jean for the first time. it wasnt packed to the gills, which is what has stopped us from trying it before

i had a beer and the wife a well made cocktail.
we started with a really good pimento cheese appetizer, with some smoked ham, crackers and pickled veggies. the pimento cheese was light and well seasoned, not dense at all. this was very good

wife got a kale caesar salad with roasted cauliflower, i got a braised rabbit pasta with roasted veggies and wild mushrooms. the rabbit dish was incredible, and contrasted well with bites of her salad. the two dishes together worked perfectly. really fine eats

we had a nother round of drinks, coffee, and split a satsuma creamcicle dessert with carrot sorbet...excellent

the server was in a great mood, and we enjoyed the banter back and forth. she earned a generous tip

one of the better meals ive had in a while, we'll be back to try more stuff
