I really miss that part of DC

The OP is in Paris, although "that part of DC" I assume is Adams Morgan which has pretty good Ethiopian as well as other stuff.

yea i actually lived in DC for 2.5 yrs, pretty sad that I've never been to one. Never could really round up anyone to go with me, and it seems like a communal-type food.

Went back today for a drink because the owner told us she'd buy us one. She mentioned that there are like 3000 Ethiopians in Paris but tons in NYC and Wash DC.

Also today met a Sengalese woman there , and she enthusiastically gave a semi-recipe for chicken yassa, which is a lemon-marinated grilled chicken dish with rice that they have. Sounds nice. Plenty of info on google

i love people from Senegal....so full of life.

See if you can wrangle a good mafe recipe from her. Friend of mine from Senegal made it for us, but he was moving so fast and we were both drinking that i lost track of what he was doing.
