yes. used to be Juanita's in that strip......i should have gone here for lunch today...instead, went to Los Cabana (i believe was the name) on the corner of Jones Creek and Jefferson. it was not very good at all.......probably not going back. ordered a chicken burrito and had a shredded chicken taco on the side....neither had much flavor at all - and the burrito was 90% beans.

Much better tacos than Taco and Burrito express IMHO.

Glad you liked it. What did you order?
There's something delightfully tacky about the restaurant that made me think the food would be good. As soon as I spotted the folding Wal-Mart chairs, I knew I was in for a treat.

I knew it was going to be good as soon as we walked in and saw the little indoor roof they had constructed out of fence boards.
Kept it simple and went with carnitas, beef tounge, and brisket tacos. Beef tounge was somewhat on the dry side (only complaint about the place). Also had a carnitas burrito which was excellent.
The tortillas they use are out of this world.
I'm going to have to swing by again during the week and dry some of the daily specials which looked amazing.

I love their carnitas.
That's what you get when a place makes its own tortillas on the spot. It's the only taqueria in town that actually markets itself as a tortilleria as well.

We were the only customers in there when we went. I really hope they are able to maintain a stable flow of customers so that they can stay in business. I'd hate to see a place this good go under.

I was actually going to go there tonight with friends, but they close at 8:15. T&BE is open until 10PM, so that's what we settled on.
About seven or eight years ago, there was a Mexican "Crazy Chicken" place in that same area, a take off on Pollo Loco. Eventually, they closed down, as did the Juanita's location, and Las Americas on Jones Creek the other side of Coursey. I'd guess that there are enough workers around there to keep that place sustained.

Want to expand out on the menu next time I hit El Limon or T&BE so what do you recommend? Some of those specials at El Limon looked amazing.

I drove down Jones Creek today and was on the lookout for this place but I did not see it. How far is it from that Hi Nabor?

On the right in a strip mall across from that church.

I'm not a big fan of milanesa in general, but everything else on the menu looked good. Next time I go, I'll probably try the ribs or a torta.

tried to go to lunch here yesterday.....CASH ONLY on a sign inside the restrnt. had to leave.
i never have cash, so this place is off of my potential eateries.......not goin to the bank just to get cash to eat a burrito.

I remember that place, wasn't impressed. I can still remember their dry as a bone chicken.

Never mind the fact that it's literally next door to a Capital One and Hancock bank, both with ATMs.
People go to Roman's all the time, intentionally bringing cash and not using a card. Seems silly that someone would pass on a great meal just because they won't take one minute to get cash. I parked, went in, saw the sign, and took a minute to walk to Capital One. Do you not shop at Wal-Mart when the parking lot is full?

i am not pulling cash off my credit card and eating a fee to eat at a cash only, non-taxpaying, inaccurate sales reporting burrito joint. they should accept all forms of payment. oh, but maybe then they would have to report all of their sales....or raise the price of their burrito and tacos.....
regardless. my 2 year old was with me - i stopped, got him out of his seat, carried him inside, saw the sign....didnt have cash, so i had to load him back up and get in the car. so, no.

I agree with you on this one, even though I have a fee-free ATM account. I never carry cash.

So because Pocorello's is cash-only, they commit tax fraud? Posts like this are why people don't respond to your threads.
Anyway, stopped by el Limon tonight, tried the tacos de cueritos (pickled pig skins). Good stuff, though I wouldn't eat them frequently. I also stand corrected, there are three banks next door to the restaurant, not two.

agreed. i never carry cash, mainly because every place takes plastic now.

again, totally agree. i'll probably try it once, but i'm not making a run to the bank to eat some tacos.
and yes, the same goes for Pokey's as well...
