The only gas station food I'll eat is Wawa's. They do some magic behind that counter. The open face turkey sandwich with all the trimmings is a thing of beauty.

No shite. They’re actually $19.95 with no tax, it’s unreal. It’s a Navy Exchange (NEX).

Joe D’s used to make egg salad sandwiches on Friday and put them in wax paper bags because this was before Ziplocs. They were a quarter and my mother bought a dozen for us every Friday for after school. I miss those and always order one whenever I see it on a menu. But I couldn’t bring myself to eat one from a gas station.
I do make it every month or so. Good stuff.
