East Gate BBQ - Youngsville

Lafayette BBQ has been discussed here and folks have said that it's very limited to Dickey's, Lil Daddy's, and Dwight's on Sundays. I've recently heard about East Gate in Youngsville and was wondering if it's worth checking out.

I think it's worth checking out. I've had it quite a few times. It's definitely different than a classic hole-in-the-wall BBQ joint, but I think the quality of their food is up there.

Southside BBQ is the best BBQ I've had in the Lafayette area. It's drive thru only (I believe), but damn good. Little red shack behind the gas station on the corner of Albertson's Parkway and Youngsville Highway.

Well, I'll be damned. That's it. I've been telling my wife to order Southside BBQ on waitr and she's been ordering from there. I guess she just knows what I'm talking about and doesnt have the heart to tell me that's not the name.
OP, it's good. Their baked beans and mac n cheese are legit as well.

I have been wanting to try east gate. They are also opening a BBQ and boil in Broussard soon.

Theres an East Gate bbq in Morgan City as well. Didn't know there was more than one. I've eaten there several times when I was in the area for my previous job. Very good food.

With all that construction they are probably not in too big of a rush. That whole area is a clusterfrick right now.

I also thought they were supposed to build a bowling alley around there like near the movie theater in Broussard, but did that plan get tossed? That would have been cool.

They still have the sign out saying it will be built in 2016.
