Should I marinade then cook? Or should I pat dry and season for crispier skin? Which produces better results?

I personally do both. Depends on time. I like to brine first in a marinade I make. That marinade would be a mixture of flavors similar to what I would season on the chicken. I have also just done seasoning. Flavor is always better with marinading them.
Recently, I came across a marinade of teriyaki, hot sauce, pineapple juice based marinade recipe that I have been modifying. Then make various sauces to accompany the wings. Sauces from sweet to spicy (BBQ, Asian, buffalo style). So far they are a hit.

I like to pat dry get the grill about 325 and put them on the top rack so its more of an indirect heat and let the skin crispen up!
Heck why not do both!

Brine them in salt and sugar for a few hours. Then rinse, pat dry, season and grill.

I'd marinate them in cooking oil and seasonings then put them on the grill to get them crispy. After that put them in your favorite sauce and back on the grill wrapped in tin foil, etc

Pull them out of the package, wash them, pat dry, add dry seasoning and grill away. Sticks and thighs are some of the most forgiving things you can grill too.

thanks for the tips. I've made a little brine I have them soaking in for a few hours, then will pat dry, season and grill.
I've cooked them before by just seasoning them and they've turned out fine. Was just looking for ways to make better.
Thanks again!

if they come out good crisp on the outside juicy on the inside toss them in your favorite wing sauce. Sweet baby rays wing sauce is pretty good You will never look at a wing the same way again. Legs are meatier juicy and easier to eat at usually 1/3 the cost of wings.
