I saw some posts in another F&D thread about Don's downtown closing. The posters said it was "confirmed" and I'm not challenging them; rather, I'm just wondering if there is more information about this decision. Is it public/final?

I know Don's may not have been the best restaurant in town in 2020, but the place meant a lot to me and mine growing up in Lafayette, and we always made it there when we went back to Louisiana to visit. We are planning just such a trip later in the year and had Don's on our list of stops.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

This rumor has been around for a while. They weren’t even selling drinks Mardi Gras day. Lack of management has lead to a steep decline in product. It’s a shame, but without sharp changes in management in the front and back of house, it’s going down soon enough.

Open or not, scratch it off your list. I’d be happy to provide a bunch of alternatives.
