1) Making guacamole isn't cooking. It's assembling.
2) I use a potato masher to make guacamole and I make a damned fine guacamole.

should have pretended to taste it, or even taste it and just tell her you didn't like it.

I’m not married so discount me for that.

But there is the chance it was the best guacamole you’ve ever had, but you decided to be a hardass and not try it.

And I assume missed out on several things that night because of it.

seeing the potato masher laying on the counter, it made sense why it was more sauce-like than guac-like.

Sounds like she used over riped avacados. Potato masher is pretty common for making large batches.

Heat and acid, again it’s not that big of a deal

Well yeah. You’re at the very least expected to acknowledge & appreciate the effort; otherwise you get the cold shoulder.

Yeah my SO has a tendency to put a shite ton of rosemary in and on everything

I’ve pointed it out a time or two.

She has a few things she cooks very well but she just guesses at new recipes and that can get really hit or miss.

She also attempted to make my fajita run once and used cayanne instead of chili powder. Rough stuff

Should have had a little of it to keep the peace. Next time eat a little but make sure the kids get a large heaping helping of it to finish it off. Every time the kids get in trouble remind them of their punishment , more quac.
