I didn’t know Detroit had its own style of pizza.

There are 4 distinct relevant styles of American pizza:
NY Style
Chicago Deep Dish
Detroit Style (resembles Sicilian Style)
Colorado Style (honeyed crust)

Seems like Detroit style has really blown up in popularity lately. Like out of the blue over the past few years.

It is really hard for people to answer in BR. Not every other damn city.

If one really wants a good Detroit style pizza, it can be made at home relatively easily with the right pan. And taste better than most Detroit style pizzas.

The images that the other poster posted were Chicago style, and the restaurant doesn't have a section for Detroit style on the menu, but under Chicago Deep Dish they do have a 13"x9" rectangular pan pizza. Haven't ordered it so don't know how they do the crust on that one, but I could see someone conflating it based on shape alone.

If they use the same dough and toppings as the other photos, then it's pretty clearly not a Detroit style pizza.
