Need recommendations in Baton Rouge (or surrounding) area to go eat (or takeout) some delicious boiled crabs.
I normally wait until late July/ early August to start searching out these critters, but figured Id ask for some tips from the experts on this board. Is early June too soon ?

I would just find some live ones and boil them myself. It's fun and you can season them how you want.

probably a great idea, just wondering if anyone knows if it would be worth the effort this early in the season?
As in, will the crabs be mature enough/full enough and of an adequate decent size, or should we wait a couple months before trying...

Tony’s Seafood in Baton Rouge usually doesn’t start selling boiled crabs until July because the quality crabs are more available then.

I hit some luck around this time last year at a few places. But you are probably right.

We caught 3dzn a couple of weekends ago and they were quiet full. I would say go for it.
