So the best restaurant don't charge a corkage fee and the mediocre and crappy ones do.

Nice. I know where I won't be bringing a bottle.

I misread the subject to read Fees at $50+ for New Orleans restaurants.

Corkage fees over $10 are ridiculous in my opinion.

Where did that guy go? Never saw him again after that thread.

I was thinking about bringing a cake to Juban's but didn't want to proceed without consulting him first.

I take it your opinion has never run a restaurant.

There is nothing wrong with bringing a bottle of special wine(not available on the menu) for a special occasion at a restaurant if you do two things:

1. Expect a corkage fee- it is only fair (would you go into Don's or Wendy's and sit at a booth with a canned coke? If yes disregard this thread.
2. If no policy regarding corkage exists on website or menu, please inform the management of what you would like to do so that they may smooth the way for service.

yeah, the store on magazine is tiny. No food except some cheeses and stuff in a small fridge.

And if there is no corkage fee you should def. tip the waiter as if the bottle were priced into the check and I would def. order a bottle of something off of their menu.
