Agreed, super simple. But that looks super busy. Did you find that the pesto overpowered the natural flavor of the salmon? I feel like it would. I've never tried that, though.
The best salmon I've ever had was marinated for 2 days in pesto. I prefer that over a soy-type sauce on salmon.
Salmon alone is good when smoked and grilled.. If it's baked, I like it marinated.

Tide, if you liked it, then you liked it, but that doesn't really look my type of salmon. I give a very light dash of PP Seafood Magic, then I do a minute per side of a med-high skillet, skin on, then a 350 oven for 507 minutes. It comes out med-rare and a crispy skin. I can't stand salmon that's cooked all the way through. Loses all the flavor.

I prefer a salmon steak seasoned with salt and pepper, then pan seared on med high heat in a mix of butter, oilve oil, and grape seed oil for 1.5 to 2 minutes per side. Usually a dash through the oven is unnecessary...depends on the thickness of the cut. It'll be medium rare...crispy browned skin...wonderful. If one wants to dress it up, a peach or mango salsa will do the trick.
