Cooking 18LB Fresh turkey in oil less fryer?

I have done a few 12-14LB ones with no problems! Curious if anyone has done an 18lb fresh turkey in the oil less fryer and the results and how long it took to cook? Worried it may be to tight a fit in the basket

Oil less fryers are trash.

If it fits in the basket you will be fine. It will take just north of 3 hours to cook but use a thermometer to check the meat.

My company gave us turkeys for Thanksgiving and they were 18.5 lbs. It was too big for my fryer so I used the oil less fryer I thought it came out fine. I did it for 10 min a pound but didn't worry about measuring internal temp and was still very juicy on the inside. It was starting to get a little too overdone in wings and legs so I would probably go for closer to 9.5 minutes a pound or a little less.

Ditto on what DownSouth said...
I did one for Thanksgiving that was 18lbs. It was a touch over 3 hours and very juicy. I also injected it with 2 bottles of creole butter injection so that may have helped

Dont guess on the time, just use a thermometer as there are too many variables. I did a 17lb one Thanksgiving in just under two hours, breast end up uncovered. Make sure you oil the ribs on the basket really well too.
