I agree with Andouille

I find Albasha had the best that I have tried.

Serops Express on Highland/I-10 was the worst I have had. Actually the other Serops locations I have tried weren't great either.

Albasha's, because they have the fried cheese appetizer too!

chicken shwarma salad from Romans

my favorite as well.. one of the best I've had

eta: one chicken shwarma salad i've had is better.. Phoenicia Deli, Houston. If you're in H-Town.. it's worth a try.

I've worked right across from a Serop's Express for 2 years. I've yet to go, everytime coworkers go they aren't too enamored. I like Sadaf. I've had coworkers go with me and say that Sadaf is better.

Serop's was my go-to place for shwarma until I tried Arzi's. You can get it delivered from Arzi's through Takeout Express. I normally get a pound of shwarma, a couple of feta salads and an order of hummus and throw in any leftover veggies I've got in the fridge. The portions are large enough that two people can eat for two or more days.

Atcha is good, especially for the price. The dressing they have for the salad is great. Albasha has been hit or miss. We really like New Orleans Poboy and Gyros - it's been great on everything we've had there, including the chicken. Cafe Delphi at Greenwell Springs has also been very good.

Also have to throw in a mention to Cafe Phoenicia up here in Zachary - the Grecian Rolls as appetizer are unlike anything else around.

Albasha hands down for me. Recently tried Sadaf's and that place is pretty good for an express (I liked it more than Serops express). I always want to branch out and get something other than shwarma but cant bring myself to do it.

I had Serop's Express on Perkins last night for the first time. The shwarma and gyros were fine. It's not rocket schience.. They did have an eggplant dish though, that was noteworthy.. well sauteed eggplant in a light oil with parsley flakes on top.. very clean, simple.. just perfectly cooked.
