Au cheval is pretty legit.

You type this out while walking into a business or something?
That's a broad question that can be answered with anything from Alinea @ $300/person to Portillo's Chicago dog and dipped beef sandwich for $6.
If we are just throwing stuff out there, Purple Pig is very popular and well-liked and doesn't take reservations so you don't need to worry about that.

Chicago is a pretty big city. You're going to need to be just a little more specific.

Eat something that you don't have where you live.
For example, in New Orleans there is no edible, non-Creolized Mexican, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Indian, French, Italian, German, or Greek food (to name just a few).
Chicago has all of those (and more) in abundance. So eat some of that.

Frontera Grill
Pequod’s Pizza
Revival food Hall
All above really good options for lunch. Chicago is a great dining city.

Ended up getting Portillos. Very unorganized restaurant.

There's a certain street (W Randolph Street I think) that has a lot of great options. I may be wrong on the street. Maybe someone here might know where I'm talking about.
W Randolph, just west of I90
