Cheese straw recipes?

Don't let me down FB! I haven't made these in a number of years and am looking for an old school 'more greasy/less powdery/crumbly' rich recipe.
My grandmother used to stack then in a square/cube tupperware with a cut-to size paper towel in between each layer which was soaked with oil by the time you reached it.
think of a jenga tower.
BONUS - Grandmother also would change it up on us by putting an olive in the middle and rolling the cheese straw into a ball

I too love a good cheese straw. My grandma, dead nearly 30 years, swore by her BFF Mary's recipe. It was published in the Pine Bluff, AR service league cookbook. I make them nearly every year at Christmas and think of both ladies. Here's my version, tweaked with a little garlic and some smoked paprika:
Cheese straws
1.5 cups butter (3 sticks), cold from fridge
1 lb very sharp cheddar (use Cabot extra sharp, or the Coastal english cheddar sold at Costco, or the sharpest cheddar you can find; don't use pregrated cheese)
3.5 cups flour
2 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder
In food processor, grate cheese. Remove from bowl & set aside. Add flour, seasonings, and cold butter cut into chunks. Using chopping blade, rocess in pulses until the mixture resembles meal, then add the grated cheese. Continue processing until the mixture collects around the blade and begins to form a ball.p (How long depends on ambient temp, processor power, etc). Remove dough from processor and divide into four portions, kneading by hand a bit if the dough isn't sticking together; the heat of your hands will help it cling together. Roll each portion on a floured countertop or pastry board, aiming for 1/8 thick. (Just go as thin as you can).
Cut into desired shapes--I like to use a fluted pastry wheel bc it makes crispy edges to cut out long strips--and transfer to a parchment lined baking sheet, leaving 1/4" between straws. Bake in preheated 375 degree oven for 10 minutes.....watch so they don't burn.
Sesame seeds added to the dough are nice, as is pecan meal, dried chives, or a pinch of curry powder.

I love olives wrapped cheese straw pastry. They freeze well, also. I also like the cheese wafers with rice krispies in the dough. Adds a little crunch.
I don't have a greasy recipe. However the recipe below is from one of my Mom's friends. I haven't made this recipe, but I've had her cheese straws. They're tasty and a bit delicate due to the amount of fat versus flour, I suspect. She used to make them for Christmas and I couldn't stop eating them.
8 oz sharp cheddar (2 cups) shredded
3/4 t cayenne
1/2 cup butter
1 t salt
1 cup flour
Ungreased pan 325 20 minutes
Makes 5 1/2 dozen
The above is how the friend wrote the recipe. She rolled the dough out thin and then cut them into strips rather than using a press.
