Cheap Knife Set

For those looking to enhance their current knife set, this is a pretty good deal. I wouldn't recommend it as a primary knife set because it doesn't have a good chef's knife.
I was looking for a few throwaway knifes that I could keep in the garage with my grilling stuff and came across this set at Costco, and purchased them.
It doesn't have a chef's knife, but I have several of those (including Santoku style knives). I was lacking a good slicer, amongst other things.
This set comes with a slicer, a deboner, and a paring knife, all of which I needed. It also came with a small 7" cleaver, which is pretty damn sharp and does a good job chopping veggies - it's compact size means it's pretty light. The knives are forged German steel, very sharp, and look and feel good. Comes with a carrying case. Reviews online are very good.
$99.00.
Cangshan BBQ Knife set
I know they are not comparable to high end German knives, but most folks won't know the difference and they look and feel really nice.

I have that set. The slicing knife is all that I use, and it works great on a brisket, ribs, turkey breasts, etc.

A good slicing knife is worth $99, IMO. I haven't had the set long, but I love the slicing knife.
I do use some of the other knives, though, and I use the fork more than I though I would. I used the butcher knife at Thanksgiving to cut up the turkey before slicing the breast, and it did a good job.
I bought if for outside, but the set contains a lot of complimentary knives that I might not have bought individually, but now I'm glad I have them.
