Heading over to Canyon Lake next month for a long weekend with the kids. Will be in an Airbnb on the east side of the lake. Looking for places to eat and drink that are kid friendly, will have a 7 and 11 year old with us. I recognize we may have to drive 20-30 minutes. Kids are not super picky so any kind of cuisine is ok.

Also any breweries in that area that are worth checking out?

Canyon Lake doesn't really have a lot of places to eat, but if you don't mind driving to 281 you can find places kid friendly in both directions.

Is New Braunfels / Gruene too far a drive for you? All sorts of Texas-fun places around that area.

Plenty of options within a close drive in New Braunfels or Wimberley. Search those.

Real Ale brewery is in Blanco, opposite side of the lake but their beers are great and they're really good folks.

San Marcos, New Braunfels, Wimberley, Blanco...all about the same distance.

Adobe Cafe (new braunfels) is best Mexican food in the area and its dam good ...I will be there tomorrow as a matter of fact...the best Italian food in Texas is near Canyon Lake at Gennaros trattoria ...kids can have great wood fired pizza and you and mama can have wonder Italian dishes...I'm partial to the rabbit ragu if its avaliable...this family had 2 restaurants in the Houston area and sold...mom and dad moved to the lake and low and behold nothing to eat near lake so the kids and mom and dad opened up a great restaurant near the lake...Cooper BBQ is good too in NB and German food go to Alpine Haus
