Chicken- sorry, but won't be able to review Mike's on the Ave., changed to Brennan's
Anyway, called to confirm dress code and the hostess said business casual.
My question- should I include a jacket? How about a suit and no tie?
TIA

I'd at least wear a jacket.
Why Brennan's, though? Haven't heard many good things about it.

WIves decided that shite and now I'm kinda pissed about it cause I've got to go to a concert dressed as if I was going to a special mass. I get what I deserve.

What concert?
You can just wear a sports coat and take it off later. If you don't wear that it won't be a horrible faux pas there, though (I'm pretty sure).
Definitely no need for a suit.
I think Galatorires is the only place left in the Quarter that still requires a jacket at night.
I wouldn't sweat it too much, either way.

Oh.
It's not like you'd look silly wearing a sports coat to that -- if there's even really a way to not look silly going to that. :rimshot:

a jacket for breakfast? I heard you could wear shorts and a polo for breakfast. Is this true?

Chicken, have you considered putting dress code information on the restaurant guide?

So what is the dress code for breakfast? I'm getting different reports. Does anyone know? Thanks!

Just don't show up in shorts, flip flops and wearing a fanny pack and I will not kill you.

Def. no jacke required, but out of respect for the place, I would do dress pants and a shirt with a collar. Not that big of a deal.

First off, I was thoroughly underwhelmed by my meal. As for my original question, what a joke! All kinds of folks dressed in shorts (cargo, dressier styles, basketball, etc.), t-shirts, short sleeved polos (not even nice ones), couple of Affliction types (IIRC). Overall, very few folks were nicely dressed.
VERY disappointing experience for as much $$$$ as we paid.

Sorry we let you do that. You said the wife wanted to go there, so I wasn't going to talk you out of it.
I will not go there unless someone else is paying. Not even a top 25 restaurant and you are right, it is not worth the money.

I suspected, as much, and even wrote a post to suggest going elsewhere, but since you said the wives picked the place, I figured you had no control, so I didn't post.
I think many of the NO restaurants are relaxing dress codes due to the heat, but also due to the dollar. Antoine's lifted the jacket requirement earlier, this year. In April, I saw plenty of jeans and golf shirts there on a Friday night. No shorts, but most folks aside from our table were very casually dressed. The thing to do is to call the restaurants.
I wouldn't wear jeans, there, but it doesn't get me all freaked out or ruin my experience if someone else does. Once people are seated, I can't see their bottom halves, anyway, and I'm not usually judging fashion during dinner.
I saw jeans at Commander's for brunch over a year ago.
