New documentary has finally released for streaming on vimeo, called "Bottle Conditioned".

Academy Award® nominated filmmaker Jerry Franck explores the small Belgian community of lambic beer, where brewers and blenders of different generations wrestle with tradition and the increased demand for their rare beers.

Watched it yesterday while drinking a 3 Fonteinen and a Lindeman's Cuvee' Rene. It's a pretty good doc on a niche style of beer (my favorite style). I think you may have to already have an interest and knowledge of the beer to find it interesting as some parts may seem boring to others. I thought the other doc on lambics called "Lambic: About time and Passsion" to be a little better. Bottle conditioned will be released on Netflix some time in January.

Your trip looked amazing. We’re trying to plan our first euro-trip in the next year or 2, but the one after that will def include stops in Belgium.

Every other year the blenders/brewers open their doors for the Toer de Geuze-a two day festival with the opportunity to visit the approx 12 blenders/brewers in Payottenland.

You can either tour them yourself in the car or there are bus tours based out of various nearby towns (or tours organized by various beer guides).

I was fortunate to take a bus tour in 2007 and visit 6 of the blenders (each bus tour had different itineraries). I had an awesome time and met up with a few guys and traded beers with them. People from all over the world attend the tour.
