I do small batches in the crock pot. I set it up on a table on my back patio so as not to smell up the house. About 3-4 lbs of peanuts, third a cup of salt, and 5 tablespoons of concentrate liquid crawfish boil. Cook on low for 20-24 hrs. You can start tasting them as you go and pull them earlier if you want them to have a little crunch.

They grow a ton of peanuts over here in south Alabama and I absolutely love them especially when they are fresh out of the field still green. I like to throw cut up onions and garlic in the pot and I’ll put in about a half a cup of salt and a half a cup of Zatarains crab boil. I believe the rule of thumb is 1 cup of salt per gallon of water but the salt level is adjusted to your preference. Green ones cook quicker than the raw ones but either work. I usually cook about 5 pounds in a stockpot and can have the green ones done in about 4-5 hours. If you don’t soak the raw ones for awhile it takes them a lot longer to get done. I like my peanuts to taste like I’m sucking the head of a crawfish.
