i must say, blue runner is by far the best canned red beans out there. you do have to doctor them up a lil bit, but i wont take much.

i usually add onions, garlic, bell pepper. saute them for a while. some whats-this-here- sauce. doesnt really take much

ETA: usually some hot sauce, i dunno... have fun with it lol

I usually saute some onion, celery, and green pepper, then a little garlic. I'll add that to the beans with a little Tony's. If I want to add meat, I'll brown some andouille.

You can use your favorite dry mix (or a few in your case), your own trinity, and the cans to make a decent batch of red beans. This works pretty well since the dry mixes are usually skimpy on the beans.

I love Blue Runner. It makes life so easy. I usually throw in some garlic, tony's, hot sauce and some spicy sausage.

Brown a lb of ground meat and add onions, garlic, bell pepper saute them, then add 3 to
4 cans of Blue Runner Red Beans. (3 cans if you
like more of meat taste, 4 cans of you like more
of bean taste. salt and pepper to taste. You end up more beans then you need for 4 people, but you can freeze the rest for another day.

I saute the trinity and some sausage or andouille and garlic in butter and cook it down and add water and then the beans. I also add some crab boil to it to kick it up along with some Tony's. They are delicious.

I like doctoring up blue runners like above too... seeing this makes me want some with some deer sausage I have thawed

I have one can of white beans and one red... anybody know if it would taste bad to mix the 2 cans?

I'd do them separately. We did this a few weeks ago and did a taste test--I think the white beans won.

Agree, I have tried them because others told me how good they are (and I do find them tasty), but I'd rather just cook mine from scratch.

I would buy them again for hurricane prep tho.
