We received an InstaPot for Christmas. I’m not exactly sure how to use the thing. I normally cook my black eyed peas in a crockpot with a leftover ham bone and my cabbage cuts cut into chunks seasoned, wrapped in foil, and baked. Should I just stick to what I know works or are there any advantages to using the InstaPot for New Year’s meal?

Pressure cookers are great for cooking quickly. If you have all day results will be similar. If you want beef stew in 30-45 minutes use the instant pot. I will also say instant pot is more versitle.

I’m off work Saturday so not really in any big hurry. Sounds like this the instant pot is something my wife would use more than me. Beef stew in 30-45 minutes sounds good but, it’s hard to believe low and slow isn’t the way to go if you have the time.

This is why I have no interest in an Instant Pot. I don’t want to re-learn how to cook everything, even if it’s a time saver.

However, hard boiled eggs in an instant pot will change your life. The shells slide right off- amazing

I wouldn't worry about it unless you're in a hurry.

Beans on a Monday for the family can be delivered in an hour with an IP though.
