Birmingham peeps, a new restaurant has opened downtown

Well, specifically in Lakeview. It's called Sky Castle Gastro Lounge. It opened officially Wednesday and some friends and I went last night. Wait was long but was to be expected. The food was outstanding. I got pork belly and fried oysters. Amazing. Unfortunately I did not take any pictures because I had already had two Snake Handlers by the time we were seated and got our food. I highly recommend if anyone is in the area.

We all sampled some of each other's dishes. It was all very good. The sweet tea brined chicken and sweet potato waffles were my personal favorite followed by the dish I ordered.

get the shishito peppers ... i've not been to this place yet, but they kind of hit the market/scene the last couple of years around houston ... very easy pepper to grill and eat ...
