Stuck in Texas and just saw Abita released the Creole Cream Ale.....
Can I get a review?
Shiner has a nice one out right now but the all time greatest is the Spotted Cow.

I haven't had the Creole Cream Ale, but their Client Select beer this year was a cream ale. I assume they are the same or similar recipes.
I felt like it was a little too sweet for the style. They dry hopped the beer so there are some fruity aromas (lime/tropic) which was a nice change, but the flavor is dominated by a lingering honey malt flavor that I just didn't care for.
Overall it's a good cream ale and probably in that group of beers that you can keep on hand for BMC drinkers and they'll enjoy it.
If you're a fan of the style it's a nice interpretation and worth giving a shot.

Not sure if they distribute to where you are, but 8th Wonder Dome Fauxm and Buffalo Bayou Sam's Daily are both fairly popular cream ales out of the Houston area.

When I was a kid my dad used to be a loyal drinker of Gennessee Cream Ale. When I was 12 or 13 I stole one of his piss-warm cans out of the case in the garage and took it to the woods to drink it. One of the foulest things I've ever consumed.

Your Dad must have a been a cool man. That was my go to as well when I would visit the inlaws in Ohio in the 80's.

Spotted Cow all day every day ...love the stuff.
Had it for the first time this past football season up at Green Bay.
How do you get this stuff here?
I called the brewery and they explained state law prohibits shipping across state lines . Suggested I make a new friend in that neck of the woods hahahhaa
You have such a friend? Hahaha
