Chimes has the best fried shrimp in town,

Pho saigon on 190 next to Masseys has the best Bun Bo Hue.

La Provence is my favorite Northshore restaurant.

Gallagher's is great for steaks.

Del Porto is up there.

Mandeville Seafood has poboys that are just as good if not better than anywhere in New Orleans. Get the Pattons hot sausage with fried shrimp.

Joey at Cafe Lynn does great soups/gumbos and fish entrees.

Crabby Shack has good boiled crawfish and shrimp, just thought I'd toss that in there.

You made it sound like they ran out of liquor and wine both times after one drink...almost like they go into a one drink policy on some nights

Not sure what you are reading. But, yes, they ran out of liquor twice while I was there. Hence the reason I said:

Went first time and they ran out of Bourbon, wine and vodka after our first round. Went back this time and ordered first drink. Ordered second drink to come with dinner (specified that) and they waited until the food was on the table to tell us they were out of liquor.

That seems pretty clear to me. I don't want to patronize a place that is in such dire financial straits that they can't keep a bottle of bourbon in stock. If I like a drink with my meal I don't think that makes me odd. As I said twice before, the final straw was that they lied to me about it the second time until after we had been served our meal.

I don't get the love for Mandeville Seafood. Been many times and always left with the impression that it's okay. Nothing worth not going back but also nothing worth really wanting to go back.

Have you eaten their crawfish in-house?

I've eaten crawfish there and taken some home from their seafood market in the last month and it was literally night and day difference. The crawfish there were excellent and good sized. On the other hand, the ones from their market tasted fine, but were considerably smaller and disappointing. I'll definitely continue eating there (po-boys are excellent), but I'm done getting crawfish to go.
