I used to work at the veranda when I was in undergrad at state. Couple of baws I worked with there helped open King’s Craft Butcher. My dad and I went and ate at King’s before the State/LSU game in 19. I would recommend. They have several very good burgers on the menu.

Update, we had Georgia Blue and LOVED it. Great food. Great drinks. Cool atmosphere. The courtyard area looks super cool also. Will certainly return when we’re back for the LSU game this fall.

The veranda closed about a month ago. I’d heard that it wasn’t nearly the restaurant that it was years ago.

Huck's Place and J. Broussard's in Columbus are really, really good.
My wife is from Columbus so we go visit a few times a year.
Actually, Columbus has a lot of great local restaurants to choose from.
Proffit's Porch
Old Hickory
Cafe on Main
Hank's BBQ
Reuben's Catfish
Zachary's
Doug & Hazel's Drive-in
Farmstead
