Being from New Orleans, I love Theos. But, it is not my favorite. I have eaten at a bunch of the BR pizza places (Rotolos=shite,Schiltz and Giggles=I think SAM's has better pizza,DeAngelos=ehh,Mellow=ehh,etc...).

The best pizza is Johnny's.

Also..North LA (esp. Shreveport) > BR food.

I dont care for the Bistro compared to the orgiginal but it sure as hell beats anything from north LA.

You do know that Ruths Chris originated in Louisiana right??

I prefer Louisiana Lagniappe over Jubans but I havent had anything in N Louisiana that was better. To the other guy.. BETTER SEAFOOD?? What?? CATFISH?

You obviously have not been to The Village in Shreveport, LA.

Damn thats 9 right there and I didnt include Mike Andersons.. Dumb fricking bastard.

Chain.

My problem was not with Baton Rouge food, but with the bashing of North LA restaurants. Here's a few that are greater or equal to the ones you rattled off:

The Village
Mabry House
The Cub
Superior's Steakhouse
Restaurante Giuseppe
Chianti
Wine Country Bistro
Cush's Grocery
Herby K's

I think we need a regional thunderdome to settle this.

Im just going to guess you are a college student because to say that there is better seafood in ne la than in the BR area would show that you havent visited anyplace outside of the campus area. Adding to that you claim Laffy has great seafood.. Ehhh Crawfish dishes maybe but Laffy is a fried catfish town just like what you get up in N LA. There are not many places that serve drum on the menu or trout. But if you think catfish is the culinary peak of seafood then I can see what you are stating.

Then you have no reason to rip it. I have eaten in Shreveport and it is better than the majority of Baton Rouge resturants.

So if a place starts in Louisiana and becomes one of the top steakhouses in the country it is discarded??

How many of those places I have listed have you ever tried?? being a student I would say maybe 2 or 3 on the list. But you are the same moron that claimed NOBODY could even name more than 7 places

Then why, great Foodie, are you giving your opinion?

Are you Mike Anderson and still upset that no one in Shreveport would eat that shitty food?

I have actually eaten at a good majority (7/9) to be exact. Like I said, Jubans was the best (I wish they would move somewhere other than by a strip mall however). Ruths Chris has gone done terribly in quality lately.

The Village rated up there with Peter Lugers for me.

First of all, I've been to every single one of them with the exception of Maison Laquor - just haven't made it there yet. (I'm a law student, plenty of disposable income).

You're right, I did say NOBODY could name more than 7 places, and of the 9 you listed 2 were founded 65 miles away in New Orleans and 1 has locations in 36 states.

Perhaps 7 was a bit low, but it wasn't too far off.

First off Mike Andersons is definitly not one of the best restaurants in BR.

Where did I talk about Shreveport? I have been to Ruston and Monroe and the food is frankly pathetic. Look Im sorry you hold ties to that area as special but it doesnt belong in the same category as NO and Laffy and definitly not even BR in a food sense.

Do I need to list another 10 for you?? Law Students have a lot of disposable income?? Im starting you think everything about you is complete BS.

Okay, food in Ruston and Monroe are shite (exception for Johnnys). What did you expect?

1. New Orleans
2. Shreveport
3. Laf.
4. Baton Rouge

I'm sure we can all agree that Ruston and Monroe are the arm pits of hell where good food is concerned. I don't even trust people from there.

But since you've never been to Shreveport I don't understand your dismissal of their restaurants. I've been to every single one we've talked about with the exception previously mentioned. Jubans, Louisiana Lagniappe, DiGiulio's, Manseur's and Roberto's hold their own, the rest... not so much.

Eh, yeah. Still attached to the family teet and a girlfriend that pays a lot that loves good restaurants.
